HAPPY YEARS 35 Hotmix:
1,991 nights
were long for teenagers in Cali Colombia, there was not much to do, I had a
radius "SHARP" with DVD LP (long play long-term), with vinyl 45 RPM
(revolutions per minute - the little of the "record" Colombian and
Sonolux) labels. Thanks to the gift of Dec. 24, I had my red walkman to record
the best moments of my adolescence. He had every night of the weekend were to
dream ...
Fridays
remember there was a mixer that if I'm wrong CDs came with ready mixes from the
United States called "HOT MIX", and Saturday was called "Special
Remix" with its Discjokey William Mix Time Umaña, of the station
"96.5 FM TODELAR STERO" very fashionable in the 80s and 90s. They
gave away 12-inch LPs (they were romantic music ... wanted to mourn when you
demanded payment the super prize at the door of the sound radio, located in the
neighborhood of Cali countryside ... Sniff!
The best were
the tapes of the Maxi-TK and Disco Mobil's "PARADISE" 1.993 if I
remember correctly, listening music genres like High Energy, freestile and
House Music -were the best and the biggest prize - ... in addition, nightclubs
of the period gave them away as Épsilon and tapes made by his DJ Jhon Zuluaga,
along with free to go Rumbear this Disco passes and get 1.994, which was a time
of great new features and surprises for my life, because I won a prize at
Dunkin Donuts of the Sixth (pink Zone Cali). My first CD player "DiscMan
Sony" was in those days that came the first CD's to my hands. Keep in mind
that the music was coming from outside at very high costs, but worth their
weight in gold.
The sound compared to the simple
LPs and CDs purchased Colombian Carlos Correa was the only vendor of the time,
which imported music from the US. UU. and Europe were much higher than what
sounded in my beautiful Cali, a thousand times thanks to "High
Energy" or (high energy) which was located on the 6th to north, "Digital"
or CDs made a revolution in audio, something from another world! ... and thanks
to a collection of 5 CDs of "HOT MIX" changing with another friend
for LPs very high-profile Music in one of the best clubs "tHE PLACE"
belonging to the late Diego Osorio today I make this portal tribute to those
memories and celebrate the 35th anniversary of "HOT MIX 5"
